NJ Dining: Modern Southern Dining Invades Montclair

Modern Southern Cuisine has arrived in Montclair via Indigo Kitchen on Bloomfield Avenue, and Albert’s on Church St.

Indigo Kitchen, Lance Knowling’s new Montclair outpost, exudes the cool charm and refinement Lance is known for.  According to Knowling,  “[t]his restaurant has a more diverse menu and blends classical techniques with southern and soul styles. . . [with a] slightly upscale presentation.”

Since April, HFTK has been writing about the impending Cafe Amici metamorphosis.  Last week, it became official:  owner, Albert Franco debuted the “New American Southern Cuisine” of acclaimed Montclair chef, Patrick Pierre-Jerome.  Remember this: Fried Chicken and Braised Short Ribs!
