Our friend, Christine Nunn, chef and owner of Picnic Caterers in Emerson, called yesterday to share the sad news that her Aunt Joan had died. Local readers and patrons of Picnic will recognize Aunt Joan as the woman who frequently staffed the front counter. She always served with a smile and a kind word. We’ll miss you Aunt Joan. Visiting will be on Monday, August 11, 2008, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, Vander Plaat Colonial Home, Fair Lawn. A memorial service will be held September 21 at a location yet to be decided.
