Head down to the shore over the weekend and ask the locals where to go get ice cream, you’ll more than likely be told “Hoffman’s”.
While not much to look at, Hoffman’s is a classic ice cream parlor with home-made ice cream that catches huge crowds on summer evenings from Jersey Shore tourists. You might have to wait on line as much as a half an hour or more if you go at prime evening hours, especially on the weekend. However, the flavor selection is immense, the quality is excellent and you might make a few new friends on line!

It’s hard to imagine hour-long waits for Ice Cream, but at Hoffman’s, you’d better take a number. Click on the “Read the rest of this entry” link below for more.
Upon arriving at Hoffman’s, you’ll come to the immediate realization that this is no ordinary ice cream parlor.
Here’s what the line looks like on a Saturday night. You’ll need to take a number and wait on line. My recommendation is that you make friends with someone that has a lower number than you and hopefully they let you skip a few places with them.
Hoffman’s makes over 30 flavors of ice cream and has many toppings to offer.
You can see the refrigerated cream vats behind the parlor seating area.

The best place to eat your ice cream is outside, where you are likely to make a couple of new friends.
This guy is also enjoying the Coffee Royal. We both agreed it kicked serious butt.
