NYC Dining Events: Big Apple BBQ Block Party 2007 Slide Show (UPDATED)

We just got back from the Big Apple BBQ Block party — and while we are all about to go into a meat coma, and don’t have the energy to annotate everything and give you a complete run-down yet, we got some great photos for you to see. For now, We’ve got a Flickr show, which we’ve updated to over the weekend with lots of new content and juicy pictures of smoky meat. Click on the photo below to have a look at what’s in store.

  1. Melissa says:

This is the most glorious of food events! I know from the pictures that you enjoyed it immensely .. thanks for posting the shots of the day’s eating!

  2. Jon says:

For those of you impatient for more, I can give you an insider’s point of view and tell you that I know for a fact that Jay has a LOT more coming from/about the BABBP 2007. There’s a ton of audio coming from him, some candid portrait shots of the pitmasters which I have to immodestly say (I took them, while Jay was interviewing these folks for future Podcasting) are outrageously great and really show the character of the people behind the BBQ, some more super-close-up food photography from Jason himself, some video, etc.

Jay’s got a lot up his sleeve–he’s just taking his time polishing it all up nicely for you.

Some of the new material may already be visible in the flickr show–so re-watch it even if you saw the stream the other day.

  3. I just wanted to say thank you to the member of your staff which gave her bandanna (to hold her hair) to my fiancee that day at the Big Apple BBQ Block Party. I had a great time at the event, and it was great meeting you. Thanks again!

I was there from start to finish… That was a party!

Just one thing, why no in action pictures of Hill Country’s pitmaster Robbie Richter?
    Plenty of Big Lou, though…

  6. Robbie was in and out of the pit and back and forth to the restaurant and I missed him twice… Big Lou was the main guy manning the fort most of the time.

  7. Rachel Perlow says:

You’re welcome, Nicholas. They were giving out those Texas Pete promotional bandanas at the press check in, and I think at the Texas Pete booth, but I’m glad to have been of help.
