Nice Weather = WEBER

The weather was gorgeous today, so I raced over to COSTCO to grab some meat and veggies, and headed home at full steam to fire up the trusty Weber Genesis Silver C.

These are New York Strip Steak “Pinchos” (Spanish-style Kebabs) marinated in Recaito, Garlic, Mustard, Olive Oil, Salt and Pepper, Parsley and Lime Juice, with Puerto Rican Achiote-Flavored Shortgrain Rice, with Grilled Sweet Onion, Mushrooms, Grape Tomatoes, Poblano Peppers, Pineapple, and Napa Cabbage rubbed with Bacon Grease.

We also had some Puerto Rican “Vinagre” (Spicy Pineapple Vinegar) on the side which we had made before as a condiment for the kebabs.

  1. Not to go all academic on your ass, but “pinchos” does not really mean kebabs. At least, not in Spain. Most Spaniards I knew spoke of getting “pinchos” instead of “tapas” when we went out on the town. I’ve pasted the Royal Academy’s definition below:

    4. m. Porción de comida tomada como aperitivo, que a veces se atraviesa con un palillo.

Food looks great on your Blog. Did you do the cooking at home in NJ or in TX? Regards DAD

I should also say that the food looks incredible. I wish that I had a grill.
