New Orleans Dining: Cafe Du Monde

Cafe Du Monde Coffee Stand
800 Decatur St, New Orleans LA 70116

Cafe Du Monde on Decatur Street in the French Quarter is one of the most famous tourist spots in the city. It’s a great place for grabbing some chickory coffee, beignets, and watching the goings-on of the many  (inebriated) characters and street performers that walk down the street.

Cafe Du Monde is open 24 hours a day, so you can get your coffee and beignet fix in any state of inebriation at any time.

The menu is simple. Beignets and Coffee. Frozen and Iced Cafe Au Laits were added to the menu in 2003.

Decatur Street is a great place to watch the local performers and any weird activity going on. You never know who’s going to show up.

Frozen Cafe Au Lait, made with chickory coffee, and beignets, utterly piled on with powdered sugar.

The coffee urns and deep fryers at Cafe Du Monde go non stop.
